IP65-rated, wide-temperature DC motors for precision agriculture and smart farming equipment.
Agricultural applications present a unique combination of challenges: outdoor operation across wide temperature ranges (-20°C to +60°C), heavy vibration from terrain, water and chemical spray exposure, and 12–24V battery-based power systems. Motors must perform reliably through a full growing season without service.
The fastest-growing segment is precision agriculture — variable-rate seeding drives, prescription fertilizer spreaders, and section-control spray nozzles. These require NEMA 17/23 stepper motors or gear motors with encoder feedback for precise metering. The most critical spec is repeatability rather than absolute position.
Variable-rate seed metering drives — stepper or BLDC gear motors with encoder feedback for section-by-section rate control. Must survive vibration and fertilizer dust.
BLDC and brushed DC motors for pump drives in boom sprayers, fertigation systems, and chemical injection. Must handle liquid-adjacent operation and chemical exposure.
Linear actuators and gear motors for header height adjustment, threshing gap control, and implement positioning on combines and harvesters. High force, slow speed, weatherproof.
IP54 is the minimum for protected agricultural use (tractor cab, enclosed seeder). IP65 is recommended for exposed outdoor use (boom sprayer, field equipment). For chemical wash-down environments, IP67 is required. We stock motors across all three IP classes.
Yes — we can supply BLDC gear motor assemblies with CAN-enabled controllers compatible with ISOBUS (ISO 11783) and J1939 protocols for OEM integration into precision agriculture terminals. Contact us for integrated motor-controller solutions.
Our standard industrial motors are rated -20°C to +60°C ambient. For extreme environments (desert operations above +50°C ambient, Arctic cold), we can specify thermal class H motors with high-temperature bearing grease. Specify your operating environment when requesting a quote.
